John Mobilio, born in 1973 in Orlando, Florida, won after high school a State Fine Arts Scholarship to attend Savannah College of Art and Design. In 1992 he entered the University of Georgia Department of Art in Athens, Georgia. For several years he lived and worked as an artist in Athens showing and selling his art at various venues public and private, including a successful solo show at the Blue Sky Gallery. John moved to New York City in 1999, where he continued to paint and show his work. John moved to Hamburg, Germany in the fall of 2008 where he currently lives on a self-employed artist's visa, the first to ever be issued by the Hamburg Visa Office. Since his arrival, he has been included in two group exhibitions, “HanseArt Art Hamburg” in October 2006 and “Support Your Local Heroes” at the Gallery Halb-Acht in January 2010. Last fall John had his first solo show in Europe, “Stolen Thunder”, also at the Gallery Halb-Acht, where he nearly sold out completely. John is currently looking to expand his exposure throughout Germany and Europe.
